Who we are

Dira Schools is run by REA ELITE GENERALS ("we"). We help schools, drivers and parents see where a school bus is, so parents know when their child is picked up and dropped off. Contact us:

What we collect

• Parents: name, phone number, email, the names (and optional class and admission number) of your children, and the pickup and drop-off spots you choose on the map.
• Drivers and bus assistants: name, phone, email, optional licence number, and the live location of the phone while a trip is running.
• Schools: school name, address, location, the staff account details, vehicles, routes and stops.
• Trip records: when a child boarded and was dropped off, alerts, absences you report, and notifications we sent.

Why we use it

• To show you the bus position and arrival time for your child.
• To plan routes and send alerts (bus nearby, boarded, dropped off, delays).
• To keep children safe, for example SOS alerts and missed-stop checks.
• To run billing for schools and to keep the service secure.

We use your information because you agreed when you created your account, and because it is needed to provide the service you asked for.

Children's information

We collect a child's information only through the child's parent or guardian, or through the child's school. We collect the minimum needed: name, pickup and drop-off spot and boarding records. We do not use children's information for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who can see it

• A parent sees only their own children's information.
• A school sees its own students, drivers, vehicles and trips.
• A driver sees the stops and children on their own trips.
• The bus location is shown to a parent only while their child's trip is running.
• Service providers who help us run the service: cloud hosting, SMS and email delivery and push notifications. They may process data only to provide those services for us.

We do not sell personal data. We share it with authorities only when the law requires.

Where it is stored

Data is stored on secured cloud servers that may be outside Kenya (currently South Africa). We take steps to protect it, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password protection and regular backups.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is active. Detailed location history of buses is kept for a limited period for safety and reporting, then deleted or reduced to summaries. When an account is closed we delete or anonymise personal data unless we must keep a record by law.

Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you may ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, object to some uses, or ask us to delete it. Parents may do this for their children. Write to us using the contact details above. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya).

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way we will tell you in the app.
